This single unit has all the components located in the same casing, along with a double-shaft fan motor.

The outdoor components of a window air conditioner include the following:

  • Fan motor

The indoor components include the following:

  • Cooling coil
  • Fan blower
  • Capillary tube
  • Operation panel
  • Filter drier
  • Drain pan

It has a nominal capacity between 1 ton and 4 tons

2. Split Air Conditioner

This type of air conditioner is made up of two separate units: indoor and outdoor.

The outdoor unit, as its name suggests, is installed on the outside wall of the room in which the indoor unit is being installed.

The indoor unit comprises a cooling coil, long blower, and air filter. While the outdoor unit comprises a compressor, condenser coil and the expansion coil or capillary tubing.

It has a nominal capacity between 1 ton and 3 tons
