How to Remove Interior Wood Trim — In 3 Steps!

Need to remove trim? Whether you’re tired of a dining room chair rail or just want a new look, removing trim is fast and easy — especially if you have the right tool!

1. Score any caulk around the trim with a razor knife.

2. Use a trim puller to carefully remove the trim; tap the tool with a hammer if necessary.

A trim puller is made to remove trim without damaging drywall. But you can use a prybar — just place a block of wood behind it to protect the wall.
