Brent in Oklahoma says, “We have a 30’X40’garage attached to a walkout basement. The garage is cinder block construction with a flat 4” thick concrete roof that doubles as an uncovered patio for the ground floor. The garage is hot and humid in the summer and cold in the winter. The top patio surface is painted. What is the best sealer for this surface? How can I best insulate the painter garage? It was built in the 1960s.”
Rosalind in Texas says, “How to install an ADA approved toilet? how to take a frame off a door to widen it for a person in a wheelchair?”
Peggy in South Carolina says, “My bedroom is above my garage with an insulated ceiling. It’s really hot in the room all summer which 9-months of the year are. Would it help keep it cooler if I put a white reflective Foam core insulation on the ceiling onto of the drywall? I have this product on my garage door already and it helped the temp. in the garage.”
George in Florida says, “We’re fixing up our house to put it on the market so we’ve been working on “Curb Appeal” projects like painting the front door and landscaping to attract buyers. The problem is our driveway looks terrible. It has tiny cracks all over and places that look like the cement has “peeled away.” I don’t want to paint it because I know that won’t last in this climate. Any ideas or specific mix from Quikrete that may help me in this situation?”
Kay in Colorado says, “My home was built in 1958. Vaulted ceilings so no attic. I would like to have an exhaust fan installed in the bathroom. The breaker box is outside of the bathroom window. What kind of contractor would I need to use? I would hope it would vent through the roof. I do have a small window above the tub but I’m short making it difficult for me to reach.”
